As someone who has been searching for over a year to try to find a gym that felt safe, respectful, empowering and supportive I am so excited that I will be working with Lyons Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!! After a single session I felt all of the ways that I was looking to feel and more. The owners were brilliant, generous, respectful and incredibly well-educated! Jaymin was able to inspire motivation out of me when I was unsure what I could bring to the session. Liz helped me to understand my body with just a few causal comments that were profound and so empwering to me. The guidance from the owners was both so comfortable and natural, it was easy to forget that I had ever been nervous or apprehensive about what the experience would be like. I have 2 that go to the 7-12 year old class and to watch Coach with these kids , I’m in ahh.

I have been attending Lyons BJJ for 3-4 Weeks now about 4 times a week personally, and my son has been attending 3 times a week for the same amount of time. We both love the gym. The workouts are great the instructor is very knowledgeable and is amazing with kids. One of the biggest reasons I started was so that my son could do a martial art and learn some very import skills such as discipline, patience, and resilience. So far I have not been let down. I also find that one of the most important focuses of the gym is safety, which I think is amazing, because it helps to encourage longevity and persistence. We focus on safety so that injuries are minimal and everyone can keep training. I have been to many gyms that have not had that focus and as someone in my mid 30's I don't heal like I did when I was young so being able to stay away from injuries is very important to me.

When I saw Lyons-BJJ coming right down the road from me, my husband and I were SO EXCITED!!! We have always wanted to get our boys into it to learn it and to have it help with some discipline. Coach J is hands down amazing with the kids!! He brings the energy to practice. My boys are always so excited to go!! I have two boys that would be considered two different class/age group but Jaymin has been great at letting them all practice together. He makes sure to remind them the moves are to only be done in his presence(which I really liked hearing him tell my boys!!), he makes sure they’re comfortable with the moves and know when to TAP OUT! When I watch him teach my boys I just think he was made to do this and was made to work with kids!
